5 Million Seedlings Produced Annually in Konya

The facility established by Meram Municipality in Konya and producing 5 million vegetable seedlings annually contributes to the local producers' economy.

In the greenhouse established on a 3,250-square-meter area in the Karahüyük neighborhood, vegetable seedlings grown entirely from local seeds are also satisfying producers with their productivity.

The facility has become one of the preferred points for vegetable producers in the region who aim to minimize transportation costs.

Belkıs Kaplan, the Production Manager of Konya Fide, stated that they handle all processes from seed planting to shipment.

Kaplan stated, "In the greenhouse, we grow various types of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, melons, and watermelons. Additionally, we grow cabbage and other products when their season arrives." She mentioned that the production, which they start at the end of February, continues until September.
