An informational meeting was held for the “Agricultural Diplomacy Forum,” which will be organized in Konya by the Agricultural Strategy and Policy Development Center and the Green Impact Association, hosted by Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the International Agricultural Cities Union (AgriCities).
Speaking at the meeting held at Konya Metropolitan Municipality's Taş Bina Culture and Art Center, Green Impact Association President Mine Ataman highlighted that the agricultural economy accounts for 5% of the global economy and has a significant impact. She stated that through the “Agricultural Diplomacy Forum,” a new holistic and multidisciplinary perspective on agriculture and diplomacy will be shared with the world from Konya.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay emphasized that agriculture is one of the most fundamental resources in the journey of human existence, stating, “In today's world, agriculture is not merely a means of production; it is also a cornerstone of the economy, foreign policy, the environment, and social harmony.”
Former Minister of Agriculture and current President of TARPOL, Mehdi Eker, also expressed his pleasure at being in Konya and thanked Mayor Altay for his hospitality.
TARPOL President Mehdi Eker said, “I hope that the Agricultural Diplomacy Forum, which will be held for the first time in our country and is a concept that has not yet been discussed globally, will contribute to our international efforts and be beneficial for all humanity.
