Production continues for Hüyük strawberry, which stands out with its flavor and aroma and has received a geographical indication from the European Union.
President Ertuğrul Zedef stated that Hüyük strawberry production is increasing day by day, with the only issue being water scarcity.
Hüyük strawberries continue to be recognized for their unique flavor and aroma. As the 25th product to receive a geographical indication from the European Union, production continues this year as well.
Zedef highlighted that Hüyük strawberries recently received a geographical indication from the European Union, saying, "Hüyük strawberries have become the 25th product to receive a geographical indication from the European Union. Production of Hüyük strawberries continues in our region, and this has now turned into a full-fledged industry. The harvest time varies, with the first harvest starting in May. After a short break, trimming and cleaning are done, and the second crop begins to bloom. Depending on the seasonal conditions, the harvest continues until November or December."
