Konya Boosts Rural Production with New Sapling Support

Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues to expand its support for farmers in 2026 in order to increase agricultural production and support rural development.

Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, stated that they always stand by the producers of Konya who contribute added value to the national economy through their production in Konya, one of Turkey’s most important agricultural cities.

Uğur İbrahim Altay noted that the distribution of saplings to farmers and producers has started again this year within the agricultural support program of Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

Altay said, “We continue our support to ensure that our producers become stronger, agricultural production becomes more diverse, and the income sources of our citizens living in rural areas increase. In this context, we have started distributing 11,530 saplings with a 50 percent grant to our farmers, consisting of quince, persimmon, chestnut and walnut saplings. We believe that this sapling support will make a significant contribution both to production diversity and to the regional economy.”
