Konya to Host First Agricultural Diplomacy Forum

The agricultural capital Konya will host the “Agricultural Diplomacy Forum” for the first time in October.

Organized by the Agricultural Strategy and Policy Development Center (TARPOL) and the Green Impact Association, and hosted by Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Union of Agricultural Cities (AGRICITIES), the forum will address agriculture and diplomacy with a holistic approach in the context of climate change, natural disasters, pandemics, and wars. For the first time, topics such as the challenges of the global future, the search for new markets, the use of technology in agriculture, food nationalism, sustainability, development, and global cooperation for political stability will be discussed in all their aspects.

The forum will bring together ministers, members of parliament, representatives from the United Nations and the European Union, local governments, leading companies from the agriculture and food sectors, national and international stakeholders, academics, farmers, and non-governmental organizations.

On Monday, April 14, a press conference will be held at Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s Taş Bina Culture and Art Center by Dr. Mehdi Eker, Chairman of the Board of the Agricultural Strategy and Policy Development Foundation (TARPOL), and Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality and President of the Union of Agricultural Cities. During the conference, Mine Ataman, founder of the Green Impact Association and an agricultural journalist, will share the scope and details of the “Agricultural Diplomacy Forum” with the public.
