Mayor Altay Supports Agricultural Development in Konya

Mayor Altay Supports Agricultural Development in Konya

The wheat harvest has been completed at the Saraçoğlu Agricultural Production and R&D Campus, which spans 14 million square meters and was established by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Karatay Municipality.

Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that while they encourage the cultivation of alternative products in rural areas in Konya, the agricultural capital, they also support agricultural development by bringing idle lands into production.

In this regard, Mayor Altay noted that they are conducting significant agricultural work at the Saraçoğlu Agricultural Production and R&D Campus in collaboration with the Karatay Municipality. He emphasized that the project, carried out on a 14 million square meter area, is of great importance for Konya, especially due to the irregular rainfall and drought caused by global climate change in recent years.

Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca also emphasized that they have implemented an exemplary agricultural project in Konya, known as Turkey's granary, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Municipality. He stated, "Our aim is to contribute to the development of national agriculture. I thank our Metropolitan Municipality for their support."
