As part of the “50% Grant Beehive Support” project, organized for the third time this year by the Selçuklu Municipality to promote livestock production in rural areas, beehives were distributed to local producers.
To date, a total of 184 farmers have benefited from the project, with 887 beehives distributed.
With increasing demand each year, the project has gained significant momentum in production and has become a new brand of Selçuklu. Over the next month, producers will be able to consult Selçuklu Municipality's technical team on beekeeping and honey production.
Emphasizing that Selçuklu Municipality always prioritizes rural development by supporting production and producers, Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı stated:
“We continue to invest in agriculture and livestock in Selçuklu. We know that agricultural production is one of the most vital driving forces for countries today. With this understanding, we took responsibility to boost production and established our Directorate of Rural Services, starting our work in this field. One of the projects we have implemented to revive the declining production capacity in our rural areas is the ‘50% Grant Beehive Support’ project, now in its third year. The growing interest from producers shows us how well-directed our efforts are. In this year's distribution program, we provided 410 beehives to 82 producers in 33 rural neighborhoods. With this number, we have so far distributed a total of 887 beehives and included 182 producers in our project in Selçuklu.”
