Wheat and Barley Harvest Continues in Konya

Wheat and Barley Harvest Continues in Konya

The 2025 wheat and barley harvest has begun across the Konya Plain, known as Turkey’s grain hub. Farmers in Seydişehir’s Kumluca neighborhood started harvesting barley on June 17, and the harvest is continuing in other districts.

Despite challenges, irrigated fields are showing good yields, giving farmers hope for this year’s production. Early results indicate that wheat, especially in well-managed lands, maintains stable output.

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) announced purchase prices to support producers: 13,520 TL per ton for barley and 16,020 TL per ton for bread and pasta wheat. In addition, farmers will benefit from 2,520 TL per ton in support payments.

With harvesting machines operating across the region and support measures in place, Konya farmers are optimistic about completing a productive season.
