The Meram Museum, launched by the Meram Municipality to promote Konya’s culture, is drawing significant interest from international visitors.
This unique museum, which serves as a true crossroads of cultures, recently welcomed visitors from Iran.
The museum, which brings to life the experiences of people from birth to death in Konya’s culture, once again impressed its visitors.
The group from various cities in Iran, which included tourism professionals, embarked on a cultural journey at Meram Museum and also had the opportunity to taste the flavors of Konya’s cuisine.
Guests who explored the thematic rooms within the museum gained insights into Konya’s social life. They shared that they felt as if they had stepped into the past and noted that they also discovered traces of their own culture within the exhibits.
Maryam, a travel agency owner from Isfahan, expressed her admiration for the museum with these words: “Meram Museum has taken on a very special role in promoting the culture of Konya and Meram. It felt like we truly experienced every stage of a person’s life from birth to death. Each room offered us a different historical atmosphere. We also noticed many similarities with Iranian culture—especially traditions like not taking babies outside for the first 40 days and raising them around elders.”
Elham Burzui, a travel agency owner from Tehran, also highlighted the cultural similarities with Konya, saying, “This has become a wonderful means of keeping the lifestyle and culture of your city alive. The food offered here was also very delicious. I found many common points with our own culture.”
Roshanan Parvaz, who came from Shiraz, emphasized the cultural richness of the Meram Museum: “The museum is wonderful, very impressive. It especially shares many similarities with Northern Iranian culture. The food was also excellent. My friends really liked it too.”
After taking a group photo to remember the visit, the Iranian tourism professionals left the museum.
