Approximately a group of 35 Marbling artists from Konya will organize a Marbling exhibition at the Beyoğlu Tarık Zafer Tunaya Cultural Center in Istanbul, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and affiliated with the Istanbul Galata Mevlevi Lodge Museum Directorate.
One more exhibition aimed at increasing the recognition of "Marbling," one of our traditional Turkish arts with techniques and materials that have remained unchanged for centuries, both domestically and internationally, has opened its doors to art enthusiasts.
The art known as "Marbling," widely accepted worldwide, is actually a form of paper decoration and painting. The marbled papers created using this method have been referred to as "Turkish Paper" for many years and have continued to develop, preserving their existence through a traditional apprenticeship-based education method, making them one of our rare and valuable arts.
The art exhibition, which will open on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 18:00, can be visited during the day from 09:00 to 17:00 for a duration of 10 days. Konya, which served as the capital of the Seljuk culture and civilization for many years, is also one of the influential and significant centers in the birth and development of Seljuk art.
