Over 70,000 Residents Join Cinema Days in Konya

The Cinema Days event organized by Konya Metropolitan Municipality in 101 neighborhoods has come to an end.

Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay emphasized that one of the main goals of the “Konya Model of Municipalism” is to extend all the opportunities available in the city center to the most remote parts of the city.

Noting that they successfully completed the Cinema Days event launched to enliven social and cultural life in neighborhoods outside the city center, Mayor Altay said, “Children who watched the film Cep Herkülü: Naim Süleymanoğlu with their families at the Cinema Truck both enjoyed an open-air movie experience and had a nostalgic evening. During Cinema Days, which continued throughout the summer, we welcomed more than 70,000 residents. For us, municipal services are not limited to infrastructure alone. At the heart of our social municipalism are projects that put people at the center, preserve cultural values, and strengthen social bonds. Cinema Days is a fine example of this vision. I would like to thank all our residents who took part in our event held in 101 neighborhoods throughout the summer.”

Residents who joined the events and enjoyed open-air cinema expressed their satisfaction with the initiative, thanking Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay and everyone who contributed for providing them with this opportunity.
