Unique Handicrafts of Sille

Sille stands out with its rich history, distinctive architecture, and vibrant traditions, as well as its spectacular handicrafts. The craftsmanship in Sille is exemplified by luxurious garments, world-renowned rugs and carpets, jug factories, intricate stonework, and chandlers, all showcasing the area's artistic wealth.

Currently, Sille is undergoing a process of identification and exhibition, with significant efforts from the Selçuklu Municipality to preserve and promote its handicrafts. The Metin Sozen Town Factory, a collaborative project between the Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Çekul Foundation, serves as a unique venue for nurturing artisans and perpetuating the art of stonework.

Additionally, SELMEK’s courses in Turkish Islamic arts and handicrafts, along with rug and carpet factories and artisan shops in the center of Sille, are all organized by the Selçuklu Municipality, making a substantial contribution to the preservation of these traditional crafts.
