Gonca Yılmaz Batur, Deputy Minister of Commerce, expressed that “Women’s Cooperatives” have been founded in accordance with the demands of women entrepreneurs, and there have been 530 Women’s Cooperatives within the scope of Ministry of Commerce.
Gonca Yılmaz Batur, Deputy Minister of Commerce, mentioned women’s cooperatives and said that; “Within the scope of our ministry, 530 women’s cooperatives have been founded in our country. As the Ministry of Commerce, one of our studies is to encourage our women come together as a cooperative. First of all, we are holding educational and informative activities for women in accordance with the demands and we try to make them participate the programmes that will be beneficial for them. According to the “Promoting and Developing Cooperatives” project, we have visited 12 cities and organized various events such as meetings and interviews for women. On the other hand, in order to support women to come together as a cooperative, a financial support through KOOP-DES (a programme for supporting cooperatives) has been provided to the cooperatives which aim to value the efforts of women and are composed by mostly women partners. Among these women’s cooperatives, the projects, which will contribute to the production and employment, will be able to get 75% and up to 150 thousand TL donation.”
