Hilmi Kağnıcı, Head of the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) Konya Branch, stated that “the trade volume between Libya and Turkey is around 4 billion dollars and that this potential could increase significantly in a short time.”
Hilmi Kağnıcı, Head of the Independent Industrialists’ and
Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) Konya Branch, said that “We will set a
meeting upon Libya. We will bring our friends together with the opportunities
there. We had a meeting with the chairman and general manager of the Islamic
Bank of Libya. They said that they can support all kinds of projects there as
partners, which is very valuable for us. If the possibilities in the
agricultural and industrial sectors are combined, there will be tremendous
results. We have a trade relationship of around 4 billion dollars with Libya,
but it is not a dream for this figure to increase 10 times in 2-3 years. It’s
easy, simple. There are so many possibilities out there. There are many
unfinished construction projects due to the war period. These must be
completed. With the completion of these projects by our contractors, our trade
volume will increase. Because all the materials used in those projects are
produced in Turkey. Our ferry services from Istanbul have also started.
Transportation is also very easy. We also wish that Turkish Airlines flights
will start as soon as possible. We are much stronger wherever Turkish Airlines
is located. If this happens, Turkey’s relations with Libya will accelerate a little
more.”
