Indisputably a Techno Police

Kutlu Karavelioğlu, the Chairman of Machinery Exporters’ Association and Deputy Chairman of TIM, expressed that machinery sector is the one that provides competition in industry. He also said that the place of machinery sector has been rising in Turkey. While emphasizing Konya is indisputably a techno polis in this sense, he stated that “the determination of struggle of cities like Konya is unique. Konya is indisputably a techno polis. Approximately, 60% of 2, 2 billion dollars export are provided from machinery, automotive and defence industry. Today, Konya supplies 13% of agriculture and forestry machinery, 21% of food industry machinery and 11% of compressor machinery on its own in the sector. Moreover, Konya has increased its shares by 7% in machine tools, 8% in lifting platforms and 43% in heavy equipment. Ankara and Konya are playing a big role in Turkey’s Machinery with their complementary production infrastructures and developed sub-industry opportunities.
