Karatay Leads in Green Innovation

Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca visited the construction site of the 5th Solar Power Plant in Ismil Neighborhood and stated that the Karatay Municipality continues to produce clean and sustainable energy with a capacity that will meet 1.5 times its energy needs.

Karatay Municipality’s environmentally friendly energy investments continue at full speed. The İsmil Solar Power Plant, one of the model projects in the field of renewable clean energy, is being built on an area of 105,000 square meters. Once completed, the plant will feature a total of 13,440 panels and will have an electricity production capacity of 6 MW.

Hasan Kılca stated, “As Karatay Municipality, we continue to produce. We obtain all the energy we consume from the sun and offer the surplus for the benefit of our city. Solar energy is not only a renewable, economical, and safe resource, but it also brings financial gains to our municipality. Moreover, with the solar power plants we have put into service so far, we have both achieved energy savings and made significant contributions to our municipal budget.” Kılca also emphasized that solar energy investments are one of the key pillars of sustainable and environmentally friendly urban management.

KARATAY TO BECOME A LEADER IN CLEAN ENERGY

Referring to the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP), which was approved and put into effect during the municipal council meeting held in June, Hasan Kılca said, “With this plan, we will position Karatay as a pioneer in the transition to clean energy.”
