Within the scope of the two-day event with the theme of "Sustainability in the Automotive Sector", the authority names of the sector in Turkey and the world met in Konya. Company officials from 13 countries, including Germany, Belarus, Belgium, Algeria, Czechia, Morocco, France, Iran, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Egypt and Tunisia, participated in the program.
Speaking at the opening of OSEG 2022, KSO President Memiş Kütükcü said that the event will be instrumental in new collaborations as bilateral business negotiations turn into trade. Kütükçü said, "Today, we employ 22 thousand employees with more than 460 companies in Konya automotive sector. The sector's discipline of working with the OEM-main industry is also improving day by day." Kütükcü continued as follows: "It has been exactly 12 years since our OSEG conference, the first of which was organized by our Chamber in 2010. In this period of time, Konya has made a production and export revolution. In the last 12 years, its exports have increased 3 times from 960 million dollars to 3 billion dollars. The number of our exporter companies increased 3 times from 1064 to 2 thousand 992. The sector's exports exceeded 461 million dollars in the first 8 months of this year." Stating that while organizing these conferences, they always try to create a right platform by determining themes suitable for the global vision of the sector and the course of technology, Memiş Kütükcü said, "We realized it with the themes of 'R&D and Innovation' in 2010, 'Electric Automobile' in 2012, 'Domestic Motor' in 2014, 'Domestic Automobile' in 2016 and 'Innovative Technologies in Automotive' in 2018."
