Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) President Selcuk Ozturk shared the chamber's goals within the framework of the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan during the January Assembly Meeting, where economic agenda topics were discussed.
President Öztürk stated, "In December, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 1.03% on a monthly basis, remaining below market expectations. The annual CPI stood at 44.38%. Following the peak of 75.5% in May, the annual CPI has been on a downward trend for seven months, reaching its lowest level since June 2023. In December, the Producer Price Index (PPI) rose by 0.40% on a monthly basis, while annual PPI inflation dropped to 28.52%, marking its lowest level since February 2021. As the slowdown in inflation continues to support positive expectations for the disinflation process, the Central Bank implemented another rate cut in its January meeting. Last week, the CBRT reduced the policy rate by 250 basis points, bringing it down to 45%, in line with expectations. In parallel with the decline in inflation, we anticipate interest rates to fall below 30% in 2025."
Evaluating the export figures for 2024, Öztürk said, "Our country's goods exports in 2024 increased by 2.5% compared to 2023, reaching 262 billion dollars. Konya, on the other hand, set a new record by increasing its exports by 6.7% compared to 2023, reaching 3.553 billion dollars. Based on the announced figures, Konya's share in Turkey's total exports for 2024 was 1.57%, placing the city 10th among the top exporting provinces."
President Öztürk stated, "As the Konya Chamber of Commerce, we have updated our Strategic Plan to include our goals for the 2025-2028 period. Over the next three years, we aim to take the lead in digitalization, efficiency, and entrepreneurship by enhancing the capacity of our chamber and its members within an ecosystem focused on sustainable competitiveness and high value-added production. We will continue our efforts on green transformation and energy efficiency. Strengthening Konya's commercial partnerships both domestically and internationally will also be one of the key priorities within our three-year plan."
