Konya Continues to Lead the Way in Clean Energy with New Wind Power Investment

A big investment in wind power will be made in a neighborhood located 15 kilometers away from the city center of Konya. Energy production has become increasingly important throughout Turkey. Konya stands out as the city with the highest number of solar power plants in the country. In fact, even Europe's largest solar power plant is located in Konya.

Konya, a leader in solar power generation, has recently come into the spotlight with new investments. An investment of 1.1 billion Turkish liras will be made in Tatköy, located 15 kilometers away from the city center of Konya. With this investment, electricity will be produced from wind power.

Konya Water and Sewerage Administration (KOSKI) will establish and operate a 70 MW wind power plant within the boundaries of the Selçuklu district.

The General Directorate of Konya Water and Sewerage Administration (KOSKI) plans to establish and operate the Koski Wind Energy Plant (WEP) with a capacity of 70 MW within the boundaries of Tatköy, located in the Selçuklu district of Konya.

As part of the project worth 1.1 billion Turkish liras, 14 wind turbines with a capacity of 5 MW each will be installed. The electricity produced at the plant will be transferred to the national grid through either the Ladik TM Transformer Center, located approximately 17 km away, or the Konya 2 TM Transformer Center.
