Konya Hosts 7th Automotive Industry Conference

The 7th “Future of the International Automotive Industry” conference was held in Konya.

The 7th "Future of the International Automotive Industry" (OSEG) Conference, organized biennially by the Konya Chamber of Industry since 2010, took place.

Konya Chamber of Industry President Mustafa Büyükeğen stated, "We have now integrated our technological infrastructure into global trade. We produce and export in many sectors such as machinery, defense industry, food, plastic packaging, chemicals, footwear, and textiles. The automotive industry, which has brought us together today, holds particular significance for our city. It is one of the most established sectors that forms the core of Konya's industry. In the automotive sector, where we once focused on the repair and maintenance of vehicles used 50 years ago, we have now become a strong manufacturer."

Büyükeğen continued, "As Konya, we are the 7th largest exporter in the automotive sector. I congratulate all our industries and employees for this achievement. A significant transformation is starting in the automotive industry. The sector is not only facing changes in production processes but also in areas like vehicle digitalization and electric cars. It is crucial for Konya to keep up with this transformation. Companies that adapt to new technologies will lead, while those that do not will unfortunately fall behind. I believe Konya's industrialists will keep pace with this change. I also believe that this program will contribute to the sector and wish it to be successful."
