Konya increased its exports by 69.5 percent and exported 284 million dollars in March

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), declared the March and the first quarter export figures. Turkey's exports in March, compared to the same month last year, with an increase of 42.2 per cent, reached to 18 billion 985 million dollars, and it is the highest monthly export figure in the history of the Republic. In the January - March period, the first quarter of all time was achieved with exports of 50 billion 23 million dollars with an increase of 17.3 percent compared to the first quarter of 2020. Konya continued to record an increase above the average of Turkey in the first quarter of 2021. According to the data announced by TİM, Konya's March export figure is 284,260,019 USD. According to these figures, its share in Turkey's exports in March reached to 1.67 percent and the city have become the 10th Konya's exports increased by 33.57 percent compared to February 2021. The export figure for the first three months of 2021 is 700,570,584 USD. The figure for the first quarter of 2021 increased by 36.38 percent compared to the first quarter of 2020.

Selçuk Öztürk, President of Konya Chamber of Commerce, evaluated the March export figures and stated that “Konya's target in 2021 is to exceed 2.5 billion dollars. Exporting a total of 2,185 billion USD in 2020, the city continues its rapid increase in exports in 2021. Our city achieved the highest export figure in its history with 284 million dollars of exports in March. By increasing its export share to 1.67 percent in March, Konya continues to be among the top ten exporting cities. Konya, which exceeded the figure of 700 million dollars in the first quarter covering the January - March period of 2021, continues to progress rapidly towards its targets. Our goal for the whole of 2021 is to exceed the figure of 2.5 billion dollars. Despite the global epidemic in 2020, world trade declined by around 10 percent and our country's exports decreased by 6.26 percent, Konya managed to increase its annual exports. In the first quarter of 2021, our export growth continues above the average in Turkey with a great effort.
