Konya Meets 60% of Turkey's Salt Demand

The harvesting of salt has begun at Salt Lake, where 60% of Turkey's salt demand is met.

The salt harvest, which began with the receding of waters at Salt Lake, where 60% of Turkey's salt demand is met, continues without interruption. Throughout the season, a significant portion of the 1.5 million tons of salt produced in its raw form is exported to 60 countries, while the remaining portion is utilized in various sectors.

Production continues during the harvesting season at Salt Lake, located in the Central Anatolia Region, where an estimated rich mineral structure holds around 250 million tons of salt reserves.

The formation of salt begins as water is drawn from the pools designated as production areas at Salt Lake. The salt collected by salt mining machines is transferred to trucks and then sent to the collection area before being processed at the factory.
