Konya's Eco-Friendly Facilities Contributing to the Economy

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that the amount of electricity generated so far in the six-methane gas to electricity production facilities operating under the Metropolitan Municipality reached 697 million kilowatts.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality, which is also exemplary with its environmentally friendly investments carried out through the Konya Model Municipality approach, continues its effective fight against global climate change for a sustainable environment.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur Ibrahim Altay expressed that in recent years, there have been numerous environmental and socio-economic threats due to global climate change, which is one of the most significant issues affecting all of humanity.

Mayor Altay emphasized their efforts to create a cleaner world for future generations through their environmentally friendly investments implemented in Konya. He stated, "Konya undoubtedly stands among the most important cities in the fight against global climate change. We are intensively continuing our struggle against the adverse effects of climate change."

Furthermore, Mayor Altay mentioned that the Konya Solid Waste Landfill and Energy Production Facility also includes a Medical Waste Sterilization Facility, where the sterilization of medical waste is carried out.
