The Konya Chamber of Industry organized a bilateral business meeting program with the aim of further increasing the trade volume between Konya, which exports the most, and Russia. Representatives from 33 Konya-based companies held more than 100 bilateral business meetings with 30 Russian companies.
Speaking at the Konya - Russian Federation Bilateral (B2B) Business Meetings program organized by the Konya Chamber of Industry (KSO) Export Support Office, Necip Çimen, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Konya Chamber of Industry, stated that Russia is one of Konya's important export markets.
Çimen reported that industrialists from Konya achieved exports totaling $3.262 billion in 2022 and had already reached $2.181 billion in exports for the first 8 months of this year. He emphasized that during the January-August period of this year, the Russian Federation was at the forefront among the countries industrialists from Konya exported to, with exports amounting to $211 million. He stated, "We are organizing this event to further enhance our commercial relations with Russia. We believe that these bilateral business meetings will lead to the formation of new business connections."
Later, Khalimon Ekaterina Andreevna, Deputy Head of the Project Management Department at Russia State Business University, also spoke and mentioned that Konya was a particularly preferred city for conducting these bilateral business meetings.
Andreevna, expressing their awareness of the opportunities in Konya, stated, "For this meeting, the owners and representatives of our Russian companies are here. Konya is a region specially selected by our Russian Ministry of Economy. We believe in the immense opportunities this region offers, and we believe that we can better align our relationships with these opportunities and engage in more commercial cooperation. We have faith that these bilateral business meetings will be successful."
