New Hydroelectric Power Plant in Konya to Contribute 70 Million Liras Annually to Turkey's Economy

A new hydroelectric power plant has been built in Konya. This plant will produce 70 million liras worth of electricity per year.

While new investments in electricity production are being added every day, one of them will be implemented in Konya.

The General Manager of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), Mehmet Akif Balta, announced that the Akça Hydroelectric Power Plant, which has been completed in the Derebucak district of Konya, will contribute 70 million liras to the economy annually. In his written statement, Balta noted that DSİ, one of Turkey's largest investor organizations, continues its investments incessantly.

Balta emphasized the importance of an uninterrupted energy supply for the continuity of production and announced that the construction work at Akça HPP in the Derebucak district has been completed. Balta also stated that the facility, which has an installed capacity of 6.55 megawatts on the transmission line of the Derebucakth Dam, located in the Akçabelen neighborhood, is still undergoing acceptance tests.

Balta emphasized that Akça HPP will meet the electricity needs of approximately 10 thousand households and used the statement, “It is aimed that the Akça HPP will contribute 70 million liras annually to the country's economy at 2023-unit prices."
