Selcuklu’s Green Energy Efforts Contribute to Local Economic Growth


Selcuklu Municipality continues electricity production with major investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy.


In 2024, Selcuklu Municipality generated 4,635,128.28 kWh of electricity from its solar power plants, meeting 70% of the electricity needs of its facilities.

With 7,250 panels of 500 watts each, Selçuklu Municipality added value to the energy sector and produced a total of 4,238,388 kWh of electricity annually from its facility. Additionally, with the solar power plants installed at the Service Building and the Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden, the total annual electricity production reached 4,635,726 kWh.


The New Generation City Library, which is also certified as a green building, contributes to production with an installed capacity of 60 kW. Additionally, the construction of Turkey's first Green Certified (LEED) Athlete Training Center, being built by Selçuklu Municipality, will start generating its own energy once completed, contributing to both the environment and the economy.
