The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry reported that anise, which is used in various sectors, especially in medicine, cosmetics and aromatherapy, can provide more than 2 times return to its investor. Anise, one of the leading plants in Turkey in the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, was grown in 14 cities in 2019. Konya, which realizes 30.4 percent of the total production with 5 thousand 339 tons, took the first place.
Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry prepared “Anise Feasibility Report and Investor Guide”. Anise, which has been grown in Turkey for many years, is being exported as well as domestic consumption. The product, which is widely used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, aromatherapy and alcoholic beverages sectors, provides yield and income to its producer in the same year as it is a single annual plant. While 14.000 tons of anise was produced on an area of ​​approximately 186,000 decares in 2010 in Turkey, the production reached approximately 18.000 tons in 239.000 decares in 2019.
Anise, one of the leading plants in Turkey in the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, was grown in 14 cities in 2019. It was followed by Burdur with 3.483 tons, Denizli with 2.167 tons, Ankara with 1.761 tons and Afyonkarahisar with 1.664 tons, respectively. Turkey has exported anise to 40 countries by 2019. Exports, which were 924 tons in 2010, reached 2.152 tons in 2019 with an increase of 133 percent. Anise exports in 2019 cost 8.8 million dollars and The Netherlands ranked first in exports with 513 tons, followed by Germany and the USA.
