Assoc. Prof. Dr. Koçak stated that the Genetics and Cell Technologies Based Treatment Application and Research Center, which was approved to be established within the body of Selcuk University Faculty of Medicine, will be the third Gene Therapy Center in Turkey and said, "We are closely following the developments related to gene therapy. We also want this center to turn into a school, an educational environment. Because first of all, it is necessary to mature the theory in this area. We aim to combine mRNA technology with gene therapy to make some unique contributions of our own. In our center to be established, we aim to apply mRNA vaccine technology in the field of cancer. In our labs, we can look at almost all human genes. We can make genetic analyzes and diagnoses of diseases. The main problem is to be able to intervene in these diseases beyond the diagnosis. Until recently, we were desperate for this. With the gene therapy technologies that have come to the agenda in the last 10 years, the situation of intervening in diseases has emerged. We invite young people who are interested in gene therapy to our center."
