With 216 beds and a dedicated team of experts, specialists,
psychologists, and nurses, the Beyhekim Training and Research Hospital
Psychiatry Clinic in Konya plays a vital role in meeting the mental health
needs of the province and the region.
Provincial Director of Health, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Koç,
conducted examinations at the Beyhekim Training and Research Hospital
Psychiatry Clinic. Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Erkoçak, the Hospital's Chief
Physician, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İkbal İnanlı, the Clinic Supervisor, provided
detailed information about the services offered. Prof. Dr. Koç stated,
"Beyhekim Psychiatry Clinic and Alcohol and Substance Treatment Center
(AMATEM) play a crucial role for our province and region. By further
strengthening our clinic and enabling the accomplishment of more specialized
tasks, we will collectively raise its standards."
Prof. Dr. Koç stated that the Beyhekim Training and Research
Hospital Psychiatry Clinic provides services with a capacity of 216 beds. He
said, "Our clinic operates with a staff of 4 associate professors, 9
specialists, 1 chief resident, 1 biochemistry specialist, 40 resident
physicians, 9 psychologists, 4 social workers, 3 pharmacists, and 120
nurses." Prof. Dr. Koç also mentioned that the 15-bed Child and Adolescent
Mental Health Polyclinic (ÇEMATEM) successfully addresses a significant need
for our province and region, with three child psychiatrists serving in the
clinic.
Prof. Dr. Koç also expressed that after the earthquake
disaster, voluntary psychiatrists working within the clinic provided
psychological support services to earthquake victims who were placed in various
shelters in our province. He thanked the psychiatrists of the psychiatry clinic
for their assistance and support provided.
