DOSD Meram Receives High Praise from Governor Akın

Konya Governor Ibrahim Akın visited the Down Syndrome Individuals Life Support Center (DOSD Meram), which was implemented by Meram Municipality, and closely examined its operations.

DOSD Meram, which operates to support the education, rehabilitation, and social participation of individuals with Down syndrome and assist their families, received high praise from Governor Akın.

Meram Mayor Mustafa Kavuş, DOSD Meram Association President Mehmet Munlafalıoğlu, and the board members of the association also accompanied Governor İbrahim Akın during his visit.

Mayor Kavuş and Association President Munlafalıoğlu provided Governor Akın with information about the center and its activities. Governor Akın toured the educational areas, as well as the sports, play, and kitchen activity rooms, and also chatted with the children receiving education and their families. The kitchen event, where Governor Akın and Mayor Kavuş wore DOSD aprons, was filled with vibrant moments and lively conversations.

Governor Akın, reminding that valuable training, seminars, and activities are held at DOSD Meram not only for special children but also for their families, continued his statement as follows: "Among the services provided here, training sessions, seminars, and activities are also organized for the families of our special children. This way, they are supported in contributing to the development of their children with special needs. While our children receive education here, their parents also experience the peace of mind knowing that they have left their children in a safe place. They can dedicate time to themselves. In this regard, DOSD Meram is very valuable."
