By adding new dimensions to its healthcare efforts, Konya
has brought Associate Professor Dr. Utku Limon, Turkey's leading expert in
retinal disorders, to the city.
After achieving success in Istanbul, Liman, who has been in
our city for a while to meet the demand in Konya, has started accepting
patients and is providing surgical assistance to those who have complaints
related to cataracts and retinal disorders, in addition to general eye
examinations.
Associate Professor Dr. Limon, stating that the retina is a
network layer consisting of visual cells that cover the back wall of the
eyeball like wallpaper, said, "The retina is composed of 10 layers within
itself. The retina layer is the most complex and delicate point of the eye. The
retina allows the transmission of light as visual images to our brain, enabling
us to see. Problems occurring in the retina are not simply eye impairments but
eye disorders. Early diagnosis is crucial in this regard. Diseases like diabetes
and hypertension can cause retinal vascular dilation and permeability
disorders. Therefore, especially patients with diabetes and high blood pressure
should be regularly examined by an ophthalmologist to preserve eye health.
Retinal tears can lead to vision complaints. If these tears are accompanied by
ruptures in the blood vessels, the patient may experience blurry vision. It is
crucial to promptly treat retinal tears and holes for the sake of eye
health."
