Meram Strengthens Healthcare with New Family Health Center

Meram’s healthcare infrastructure has gained another significant investment.

The “Mehmet–Halil İbrahim Hekimoğlu Family Health Center,” built with the support of philanthropists Mehmet and Halil İbrahim Hekimoğlu, was officially opened with a ceremony.

In his speech at the opening of the new Family Health Center (FHC), Provincial Health Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yavuz drew attention to the current level reached in healthcare and emphasized the importance of preventive health services. He stated that Türkiye has achieved a significant standard in healthcare and that Konya has become a model city in this field.

Meram Mayor Mustafa Kavuş, who also spoke at the opening ceremony, emphasized that Meram has made a significant leap in healthcare investments, especially in recent years. In his speech, Mayor Kavuş stated:

“We are experiencing the happiness of bringing yet another concrete example of our people-centered service approach to Meram. Without healthy individuals, it is impossible to build a strong society and a strong future. This center, which we are opening today, will directly contribute to the quality of life of our citizens by facilitating access to healthcare services.”

Mayor Kavuş also thanked the philanthropist Hekimoğlu Family, underlining that such investments are among the most valuable legacies left to future generations.

The center, which has an enclosed area of approximately 1,500 square meters, includes 9 family physician examination rooms, 9 family health worker offices, vaccination units, infant and child follow-up rooms, antenatal follow-up and reproductive health rooms, medical intervention rooms, a laboratory, a breastfeeding room, a meeting hall, and support areas.

A total of 9 family physicians, 9 family health workers, 3 assistant healthcare personnel, and 2 cleaning staff members are employed at the center.
