The Da Vinci robotic surgical system has been introduced at Selcuk University Medical Faculty Hospital in Konya.
According to a statement from the university, the Da Vinci robotic surgical system was successfully used for the first time in a stomach surgery.
The first surgery using the system was performed by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz, the Rector of Selçuk University and a general surgery specialist.
Yılmaz expressed their pride in bringing this advanced, high-tech device to Selçuk University and Konya, highlighting the significant advantages it offers for both doctors and patients. He stated:
"We have started surgical procedures with the robotic system, one of the most advanced technologies in the world. With this high-tech robotic device, our doctors will continue to perform more specialized and advanced surgeries, particularly in fields such as general surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiovascular surgery, and pediatric surgery."
Yılmaz added that Selçuk University Medical Faculty Hospital, which provides healthcare to over one million patients annually and performs approximately 78,000 surgeries, is not only a healthcare hub for Konya but also for the entire region. He emphasized their commitment to closely following innovations and technology in the medical field to deliver the best possible care to patients.
