The Animal Hospital at Selcuk University’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, with its modern equipment, high number of patients, and variety of cases, provides students the opportunity to gain experience in every field before graduating.
At the hospital, diagnosing and treating farm animals such as calves, cows, sheep, and goats, as well as cats, dogs, exotic, and cage animals, is crucial for the students' development.
Students participate in over 5,000 surgeries annually at the hospital, where thousands of treatments are performed in areas such as internal medicine, surgery, artificial insemination, obstetrics, and gynecology. They also gain hands-on experience in laboratory analysis, X-rays, and ultrasound imaging.
The hospital, offering full-capacity service across 11,000 square meters with its examination rooms, imaging units, operating theaters, laboratory, and vaccination units, allows students to enhance their knowledge and experience under the guidance of experienced professors.
Prof. Dr. Hasan Güzelbekteş, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Selçuk University, stated that 200 students receive training daily in the well-equipped hospital on a rotational basis.
Güzelbekteş, emphasizing the strong number of faculty members, said, "We provide service with a total of 134 academic staff. We have five departments. Our annual patient potential is between 20,000 and 25,000. Patients come not only from Konya but also from neighboring regions such as Ankara and Antalya."
