The Selcuklu Family Development Center, a first-of-its-kind in Turkey and established by the Selcuklu Municipality, continues its operations in Konya.
The center, established with the aim of strengthening the structure of the family institution, which is a cornerstone of society, benefits a large number of citizens.
Selçuklu District Governor Eflatun Can Tortop and Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı visited the center to receive information about its activities.
During the visit, Mayor Pekyatırmacı and District Governor Tortop were accompanied by Selçuklu District Health Director Faik Serdar Aydın and Selçuklu District Mufti Selim Yazıcı.
Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı stated, "At the center, we are working with specialized consultants to address factors that threaten family structure and communication problems within families. We also provide psycho-social support to all family members during the stages of preparing individuals for marriage, as well as during and after divorce. To date, we have offered 922 sessions of counseling services at our center. As Selçuklu Municipality, we will continue to stand by our citizens under all circumstances."
Selçuklu District Governor Eflatun Can Tortop said, "The family is the fundamental building block of society. If the family is strong and healthy, then society is strong and healthy. Therefore, we are very pleased to see such a project being carried out for the development of the family. I thank our mayor and stakeholders for producing and implementing this project, which makes a significant contribution to the structure of the family."
