Environmental Investments and Water Conservation Discussed in Konya

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur Ibrahim Altay held a press conference regarding the environmental investments and water conservation initiatives implemented by the Metropolitan Municipality.

Speaking at the meeting held at town hall, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Altay highlighted that global climate change is one of the most significant issues threatening the world.

Altay stated, "Along with this threat, the regularity of the seasons is disrupted, the number and severity of natural disasters are increasing, and agricultural productivity is rapidly declining. Climate change is one of the most critical factors threatening not only nature but also our economy, health, and overall quality of life."

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Altay continued his speech by explaining the environmental investments implemented by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the water conservation efforts carried out by KOSKİ General Directorate.

Emphasizing the need to place greater importance on conservation in these days of water scarcity due to global climate change, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Altay said, "Protecting our environment is not only our most important responsibility for today but also for the future. Recognizing the value of every tree and every drop of water, and showing the necessary care, is not a choice but an obligation for all of us. Water is life. Protecting our water is everyone's duty. Therefore, making water conservation a part of our lives is of great importance for the future of our world and for new generations. Our greatest aim in all these efforts regarding environmental and water conservation is to leave a much more livable world for the generations that come after us."
