Konya Metropolitan Municipality Continues Investments for the City

The Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Uğur Ibrahim Altay, inspected the construction of the Çumra Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant.


Mayor Altay emphasized that Çumra is a district that particularly contributes significantly to agriculture, making a substantial contribution to Konya and Turkey. He expressed the joy of adding another service to Çumra.


Mayor Altay stated that a total of 44 wastewater treatment plants have been built throughout Konya so far, and the construction of three ongoing facilities is expected to be completed during this period.


Mayor Recep Candan of Çumra expressed gratitude to Mayor Altay, indicating that the facility brought to the district would address a significant deficiency.


Ahmet Demir, the General Manager of KOSKI (Konya Water and Sewerage Administration), stated that they continue to expand wastewater treatment facilities to mitigate the environmental impact of wastewater. He mentioned, "Under the instructions of the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, KOSKI General Directorate has prioritized the construction of wastewater treatment plants in all districts of Konya. This facility costs 9.5 million Euros, with 50% funded as a grant and the remaining 50% covered by our own resources. Congratulations to Çumra."


The Çumra Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will have advanced biological treatment features, is being constructed with a capacity of 9,895 cubic meters per day.
