Konya’s Help Reaches Quake-Affected Areas

Konya Metropolitan Municipality took action in a spirit of solidarity following the earthquakes in Istanbul and sent support vehicles to the region.

Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that, following the consecutive earthquakes that occurred in Istanbul yesterday, they took action as Konya Metropolitan Municipality to support citizens during this difficult time.

Mayor Altay recalled that mobile kitchen units, a mobile bread oven, a laundry truck, a dormitory vehicle, and a mobile shower unit were sent to the region to meet the basic needs of citizens who had to spend the night outdoors and in parks in Istanbul. He said, “Our mobile kitchen and bread oven have started serving in Zeytinburnu and Silivri. The other support vehicles are on standby under the coordination of AFAD. As Konya, a city of solidarity and cooperation, we stand with our citizens in Istanbul. Once again, I extend my best wishes to all Istanbul residents.”
