Mayor Altay Meets with Children

The Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Ugur Ibrahim Altay, visited the Konya Science Center and met with the children participating in activities at the LEGO-themed BrickZone Exhibition Area.

Mayor Altay, who noted that the Konya Science Center, Turkey’s first science center supported by TÜBİTAK, continues to host a large number of visitors during the mid-term holiday, said, “While we are working on improving our Science Center, we are also creating areas where children can gain experiences. We have just opened this LEGO area. In a space of 1,000 square meters, we’ve created an area where children can engage in experiments and develop themselves, marking the beginning of their journey into the world of LEGO. In addition, with our digital sections, children can transfer their created LEGO models into the digital space. There is great interest.”

HE INVITED ALL KONYA RESIDENTS TO THE SCIENCE CENTER

Emphasizing that the Konya Science Center continues to renew itself every day, Mayor Altay said, “Our main goal here is for children to get acquainted with science, to develop themselves, and to help them become scientists who will be beneficial to our country in the future. I would like to thank our colleagues who contributed. We are receiving many visitors, especially from neighboring cities. I invite all Konya residents to our Science Center, to the newly opened LEGO area and other sections, to spend quality time with their children. The holiday is truly wonderful with the Science Center.”
