Thousands Fill Mevlana Square!

The joyous Eid al-Adha celebrations are in full swing across Konya, with the city's mosques filled with worshippers for the special Eid prayers held early this morning. Eid al-Adha prayers were held in various open spaces across Konya, including the Meram Municipality City Stadium, Mevlana Cultural Center, and Karatay Complex.

Following the prayers, families and friends gathered to exchange Eid greetings and enjoy traditional meals featuring sacrificial lamb.

An important tradition of Eid al-Adha is visiting relatives and neighbors, which is being observed extensively in Konya. People are visiting their elders, paying their respects, exchanging Eid greetings, and engaging in heartfelt conversations. Families and neighbors are also coming together to share festive meals featuring lamb dishes, accompanied by traditional sweets and tea.

Heavy traffic is expected in Konya throughout the Eid al-Adha holiday. Traffic teams are working diligently to manage traffic flow and prevent accidents. Citizens are also urged to follow traffic rules to ensure a safe and accident-free Eid.

Konya Governor and Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay extended his Eid al-Adha greetings to all citizens. He expressed his hope that the holiday would strengthen the bonds of unity, solidarity, and compassion, and wished everyone a safe and enjoyable Eid.
