Konya Cuisine Book Became the First in the World

Konya Cuisine, published by Konya Metropolitan Municipality, was selected as the winner of the best Gastronomy Tourism Book at the Gourmand World Awards, the world's most prestigious cookbook award. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they will continue to work to introduce the ancient food culture of Konya, which has a history of 10 thousand years, to the world.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality won the best Gastronomy Tourism Book award at the Gourmand World Awards, the most prestigious gastronomy book award in the world, with its book Konya Cuisine. At the event held in Switzerland, Konya Cuisine came first in the Food Tourism category ahead of Egypt, Israel and Cuba. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that the Konya Cuisine book contains both Konya culinary culture and recipes of 100 dishes belonging to Konya region and thanked those who contributed to the preparation of the book. Stating that Konya's food culture was once again announced to the world with this meaningful competition, President Altay said, "We are happy to receive an award at the Gourmand Cookbook Awards, which is known as the Oscar of gastronomy books and is one of the most prestigious competitions in the international gastronomy world. We will continue to work to promote the ancient food culture of our city, which has a history of 10 thousand years."
