Konya's Traditional Cullama Dish

Cullama is a cherished dish from Konya, blending rich flavors with traditional cooking techniques.

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of ground meat
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 7 tablespoons of butter

For the Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, rice, salt, and pepper. Mix well and knead until thoroughly combined.

  • Shape the mixture into walnut-sized balls and set aside.

  • Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Gently add the meatballs to the boiling water and cook until they are fully cooked through.

  • While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and egg until smooth.

  • Remove the cooked meatballs from the water and dip them into the sauce mixture.

  • Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the coated meatballs in the butter until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.

Serve the Cullama warm and enjoy!
