Konya's Traditional Cullama Dish
Cullama is a cherished dish from Konya, blending rich flavors with traditional cooking techniques.
Ingredients:
- 500 grams of ground meat
- 1 cup of rice
- 1 onion, grated
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 7 tablespoons of butter
For the Sauce:
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, rice, salt, and pepper. Mix well and knead until thoroughly combined.
- Shape the mixture into walnut-sized balls and set aside.
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Gently add the meatballs to the boiling water and cook until they are fully cooked through.
- While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and egg until smooth.
- Remove the cooked meatballs from the water and dip them into the sauce mixture.
- Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the coated meatballs in the butter until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
