Refreshing Pear Compote: A Taste of Konya's Culinary Tradition
Pear Compote, which is a unique flavor specific to Konya, is
a refreshing and sweet beverage during the summer months. Pear Compote is one
of the distinctive tastes of Konya and is frequently preferred as a refreshing
drink in the summer. A wonderful harmony is achieved by combining the sweetness
of fresh pears with the aroma of sugar and cloves. You can enjoy this delicious
compote on hot days and surprise your guests as well.
Ingredients:
- 1 kilogram of pears
- 2.5 cups of sugar
- 6 cups of water
- 2-3 cloves
Recipe:
- Rinse the pears thoroughly and peel them.
- Cut the peeled pears in half, remove the cores, and slice
them into thin pieces.
- In a large pot, add the granulated sugar, cloves, and water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and stir until the sugar is
completely dissolved.
- Once the sugar has dissolved, add the pear slices to the pot
and simmer over medium heat until they become tender. This may take
approximately 20-25 minutes.
- Occasionally stir the simmering compote, checking the
tenderness of the pears, and continue cooking until the pears are fully
softened.
- Remove the compote from the heat and let it cool.
- After cooling, transfer the compote to the refrigerator and
allow it to chill thoroughly.
- To serve, divide the chilled compote into bowls.
