The "3rd Turkish Music Days" event organized by
Necmettin Erbakan University (NEÜ) State Conservatory of Turkish Music started
with the "Âşık Veysel Memorial Concert". Throughout the event, which
will conclude on Friday, June 2nd, a concert will be performed each day
featuring different repertoires.
In the opening program held at NEÜ Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty
of Theology Nezahat Keleşoğlu Conference Hall, the first person to take the
stage was Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gönül, the Director of NEÜ State Conservatory of
Turkish Music. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended the event in
person and those who followed the program through screens.
Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, who explained their intention to
promote the concept of music therapy, stated, "In this significant matter,
we have initiated serious work with a commission that includes both the
conservatory and medical professionals. We will implement this project in
Konya, and with its historical position and expertise, Konya will become an
actual center for music therapy. Hopefully, we will see the results within a
few years and promote it to the entire world from Konya."
Following the speeches, the performance of the “If There Was
No Love” concert began. The program, which featured 15 special compositions
depicting Âşık Veysel, received great admiration from the music enthusiasts in
attendance.
