Konya Hosts the 21st International Mystic Music Festival

The 21st International Konya Mystic Music Festival, organized with the support of Konya Metropolitan Municipality as part of the Culture Road Festivals by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will begin on September 21.


Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay emphasized that Konya has hosted many civilizations throughout history and holds a rich cultural heritage, stating that they are working to preserve this heritage and pass it on to future generations.


Mayor Altay stated, “This year’s festival, which will meet art lovers for the 21st time, will feature numerous events including concerts, exhibitions, talks, and activities for children. The festival will kick off on Saturday at 5:00 PM at Mevlana Square with a concert titled '99 Ney Players 99 Whirling Dervishes, Face to Face Devran.' This year, as part of the festival, we will host 40 artists from 10 countries and hold 21 different concert programs. Each performance will be filled with mystical melodies that nourish our souls and bring our hearts together. The festival, where traditional mystical music from various cultures around the world will be showcased, will have free and open-to-the-public concerts at Mevlana Square. On this occasion, I invite all citizens from both Konya and beyond to experience the beauty of our city and attend the Mystic Music Festival. I would like to thank our Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, and everyone who contributed to the organization of the event,” he said.


As part of the 21st International Konya Mystic Music Festival, which will take place from September 21 to 30, the following performances will be held at the Selçuklu Congress Center: Miralem Miralemov on Saturday, September 21; Balkan Hymns on Sunday, September 22; Al Firdaus Ensemble from Spain on Monday, September 23; Ancient Voices from the World (Congo-Japan) on Tuesday, September 24; Devran, Kıyam, Kuud Istanbul Meydan Meşkleri Ensemble on Wednesday, September 25; Sanam Marvi from Pakistan on Thursday, September 26; Hind Hamed from Jordan on Friday, September 27; Sufi Music Ensemble from Morocco on Saturday, September 28; Damir Imamović from Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday.


Additionally, from September 22 to 26, a Mystic Music Camp will be held daily from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Konya Metropolitan Municipality's Taş Bina Cultural Arts Center, with the participation of academics. From September 27 to 29, various activities for children will take place daily from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kültürpark Amphitheater.
