Renowned Artist Barış Manço Commemorated in Konya

Selçuklu Municipality organized a meaningful event that moved the audience. Barış Manço, who gave his last concert in Konya before his death, was commemorated with a concert organized by Selçuklu Sanat Academy.

The Selçuklu Art Academy Children's Choir, established by Selçuklu Municipality and contributing to the city's cultural life through its activities, brought together the timeless songs of Barış Manço with the audience.

Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı emphasized that Barış Manço was a highly esteemed artist who could resonate with children of every era. In the well-received concert, Barış Manço's wife, Lale Manço, also stated in a video that the performance of Barış Manço's works holds significant importance in transmitting them to future generations. She expressed her gratitude to the Art Academy for the concert.

The concert, which took place at Selçuklu Congress Center, was attended by Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, accompanied by members of the municipal council.

In her video message to the program, Barış Manço's wife, Lale Manço, expressed the following:

"Hello, dear children. Hello to the members of Selçuklu Municipality Art Academy. I'm sorry I couldn't be with you due to some physical reasons at this wonderful event. On my own behalf, on behalf of Barış Manço and his family, we extend our heartfelt thanks to you for doing such a wonderful thing. This is very exciting. As you know, Barış Manço would have turned eighty this year, and he had something he almost considered a testament. He had said, 'I will go back on stage at 80.' You have brought this moment to life on his behalf. For that, I thank you very much. This was very important. Throughout his life, Barış loved children very much. He always wanted to do something for you, to create something for you, because you were the arrows aimed at the future. I imagine he achieved that, and I know he is watching you right now, reaping the rewards. So, I thank you very much."
