Ambassador Khaydarov: “You Hold a Very Valuable Place in Uzbekistan”

The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ankara, Ilkhom Khaydarov, visited the President of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay.

Expressing his pleasure at the visit held at Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s Taş Bina, Mayor Altay thanked the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ankara, Khaydarov, for his visit.

Highlighting Uzbekistan’s great significance in terms of cultural and historical ties, Mayor Altay said, “The Mayor of Samarkand is a board member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities. We hold meetings with him every three months. Hopefully, this will be an important opportunity for developing our relations. Of course, the friendship between our Presidents and the brotherhood between our peoples is reflected in every field. In terms of municipal work, we are making serious efforts to share Turkey’s municipal experience with the municipalities in the region. Hopefully, we can carry out great projects together.”

Khaydarov said, “In Uzbekistan, you are well known not only as the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality but also for the work you have done. As the Union of Turkish World Municipalities, you hold a very valuable place in Uzbekistan. The governors of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khwarezm send their greetings. You are a very experienced person, and we want to express our gratitude for sharing this experience with your counterparts in Uzbekistan.”

Noting that he has been in Konya for two days, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ankara, Khaydarov, added, “We have seen what you have accomplished as mayor. First, your city is very clean. Second, we personally visited the industrial zones, and seeing the work done there really impressed me. What I mean is that the businesspeople and industrialists there trust you and carry out production and manufacturing in those areas. I also visited the site of Mevlana; even though it is a very large area, it was extremely clean.”
