Stating that they were in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, within the scope of COP27, for the negotiations on climate change, one of the most important agendas of the world, President Altay said, “We opened the stand prepared by our Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change together with our minister. Currently, we have taken our place in this program not only as the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, but also as the President of the World Union of Municipalities and the President of the International Union of Agricultural Cities whose headquarters is in Konya and whose most important agenda is agriculture and climate change. Our work in Konya, the city where the risk of climate change will be felt the most in Turkey; We had the opportunity to tell about the projects we carried out in Konya. In particular, we had the opportunity to present our projects related to the 'green transformation in heat' natural gas project in the Mevlana region and our action plan and adaptation to climate change, which we carried out together with the UN development program. Climate change is the most important agenda of the world and the whole world is negotiating about it here. I would like to thank the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change for their sensitivity. As Konya, we know the importance of climate change. Because Konya is the city with the greatest risk of climate change in Turkey. In addition, a situation that will occur in Konya will create serious problems regarding food safety in Turkey. Therefore, as Konya Metropolitan Municipality, we will continue to follow the fight against climate change in our city, in our country and all over the world.” he said.
