Selçuklu Municipality and Sarajevo Brotherhood Grows Stronger

Selçuklu Municipality and Sarajevo Brotherhood Grows Stronger

The historical, cultural and social ties between Selçuklu and Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to grow stronger through mutual visits and cooperation.

In this context, Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı hosted Nevresa Ahatovic, President of the Sarajevo Konya Tulips Association, and the accompanying association members.

Expressing his pleasure in hosting the delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Konya, Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı said, “I would like to thank Ms. Nevresa for bringing us together in this way every year. For us, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially Sarajevo, is the second city where we could live after Konya, our second homeland. When we do not go to Sarajevo, we miss it and want to go there as soon as possible. I think Konya is the same for you. There are very deep-rooted ties between us. Sarajevo was under Ottoman rule for hundreds of years, and there are traces of our ancestors in Sarajevo and in every corner of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We also see Muslim Bosniaks as our brothers and sisters. In fact, as Muslims there, you also represent us. Your presence there also means the confirmation of the traces left there in the past. Therefore, we are always with you. We will continue to be together from now on as well. ”

“We continue our activities with the support of Selçuklu Municipality”

Stating that there is a strong bond of affection between Selçuklu and Bosnia and Herzegovina and that they maintain a beautiful relationship, Nevresa Ahatovic, President of the Sarajevo Konya Tulips Association, said, “We went through quite difficult paths, but the good people we encountered made our difficult journey easier. Since 2013, we have continued our activities with the support of Selçuklu Municipality. After this process, we became happier and started working more. Everything we do is beautiful, but from now on we need to work harder and teach new things. Selçuklu Municipality hosts us here every year. We thank our esteemed mayor and his team for their close attention and hospitality.”
