Konya, the city of love and tolerance, will welcome tens of thousands of visitors from December 7 to 17 during the 751st International Commemoration Ceremony of Rumi's passing.

Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Uğur İbrahim Altay, stated that tens of thousands of people from around the world will gather in Konya this year, as they do every year, responding to Rumi's call to "Come."

Mayor Altay noted that the whirling dervish ceremonies, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and hosted by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality at the Mevlana Cultural Center, will attract great interest this year. He also highlighted that numerous events will take place as part of the program.

Mayor Altay stated, “Our city, Konya, is a hub of culture and civilization that reflects Rumi's understanding of love, peace, and tolerance to the world. During this year’s commemoration ceremonies, themed 'A Time for Fellowship,' we will host our guests with a wide range of events, including Masnavi talks, panels, exhibitions, and cultural gatherings. This event is not only a tribute to Rumi but also an opportunity to share and spread his universal messages. We take great joy in sharing the teachings of Rumi with our fellow residents and visitors. On this occasion, we invite the whole world to join us in Konya and respond to Rumi's call.”

In addition to the whirling dervish ceremonies at the Mevlana Cultural Center organized by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, numerous events will be held by various institutions and organizations between December 7 and 17.
